Biennes Rare Book Annual Event

Each year the Boward County Library's Bienes Rare Book Center solicits artist to create unique works.

The Fontaneda Society, The Florida Center sponsors this event for the Book and the Bienes Center for the Book. Organized by The Miami Dade College

The current work is on exhibition thru June of 2004 on the 5 th floor

TURNING PAGES : Celebrating South Florida Artist-Made Books

Kathleen's book (made in the form of an ancient scroll) combined traditional artist techniques such as illustration, original photography, oil on canvas and digital enhancement techniques to render her work.

The Completed piece was then digitally printed onto a treated canvas fabric and mounted on hand hewn knitted needles representational as traditional scrolls. Her work includes 7 completed unique images that each chronicle Kathleen's 50 th birthday jubilee the work was entitled: TEXTiles the Scarlet Thread
